The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills and be able to generate written reports and prepare presentations summarizing work. Assistance with financial evaluation of special projects and other duties as assigned Key Duties

  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, correspondence, bulletins, and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conduct research and support various projects as required, including consolidating multiple resources/information into a consolidated report or presentation
  • Plan, coordinate and carryout special events and personal errands as required
  • Document any identified required changes, and communicate them to the relevant stakeholders

Qualifications

Position Description:

Barrick is looking for a Project Manager to join the Innovation team and take a lead on Smart Infrastructure projects. The project includes electrification of the mine with supporting infrastructure and SMART grid. It could include aspects of water management, ventilation and renewable energy integration. The Innovation team engages with several key internal and external stakeholders to initiate and coordinate projects, build and support a culture of innovation within Barrick all with the purpose of advancing our mining capabilities. The Project Manager will be responsible for the management of multiple projects taken on by the innovation team. Working closely with Product Owners, other Project Managers, Technical Leads, mine sites and many more groups to help bring mining innovations to the end user.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform key project management functions to support innovation projects
  • Manage Smart Infrastructure Budget
  • Act as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders
  • Support user testing and piloting of new technology
  • Provide status reports, analytics and updates on all ongoing projects
  • Gather and document business requirements, changes and feedback

Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate Degree related field, with 2-5 years’ experience in the fields of innovation or research
  • Experience in developing innovation for water supply resources, ventilation and energy distribution
  • Ability and experience to manage project budgets
  • Experience with new technology for the purpose of proving efficiency
  • Experience with Agile delivery methods and tools is an asset
  • Expert level knowledge in business process design, diagnostic work, organizational design, change management and project/program management

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that data pipelines are scalable, repeatable, and secure, and can serve multiple users within the company
  • Enable big data and batch/real-time analytical solutions that leverage emerging technologies
  • Collect, parse, manage, analyze and visualize large sets of data using multiple platforms
  • Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture, design, and high performing software
  • Translates business requirements into system requirements
  • Code, test, and document new or modified data systems to create robust and scalable applications for data analytics
